I hope this article is helpful for you, please feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments. In that situation, we will export it with smart iso and then bring the file into another program (like Mettle's SkyBox studio) to do the reorientation. Sometimes we find it more important to have the smart iso than to readjust the orientation. We basically start each project with smart iso and then decide later if we need the other options. If you use this feature you can't key frame the masking or orientation, but for most static shots, you may not need to anyway, and then it becomes very useful. What it does is instead of stitching in straight lines, it figures out what's important and stitches around them. This is not always important, but when it is, it's an invaluable tool.Īnother great thing about AVP is one of their blending settings called Smart ISO. They were recently acquired by GoPro so it will be interesting to see the future of the company and how it progresses, but I don't see them slowing down anytime soon.įor me, the main advantage of working in AVP is being able to key frame masks. Kolor is in excellent company and they have a lot of panoramic tools beyond video and photo stitching, including virtual tours (panotour) and play back (kolor eyes). Lastly, VS has an interactive tab that allows you to look around to preview what your video will look like while dragging or looking around and I really love this feature. So if you have or plan to have an nvidia video card, that's something to consider for sure. I find that video stitch works faster on my system then autopano video, and I attribute this to their use of Nvidia technology. I also find that you can more accurately straighten the video in VS and for AVP I always have to edit and go into Autopano Giga to get it correct. For our Sailing with Dolphins video, we had to adjust the orientation every few frames and in VS, I was able to adjust at least 10 times faster than I am able to in AVP, literally saving me hours on one clip. The main advantage of Video-stitch over Avp to me, is the key framing ability for video orientation. They have shortcuts for everything which I find very useful and can allow you to work more efficiently. When compared to Kolor's Giga, I find I can work much faster and do more in ptgui. Ptgui has been around since 1996 and is still a wonderful panorama stitching program. Video-Stitch has many great features and you can stitch video while never leaving the program, but you'll need PTGUI in order to do more advanced work. So if we can't seem to stitch correctly in AVP, we can usually make it work better in VS, and if we are having issues at a particular seem in VS, we can usually make it better in AVP. And Video Stitch (along with PTGUI) has a better way to find control points and stitch. In very broad terms, I think Autopano Video Pro is easier to learn and has some great features like smart iso, and the ability to key frame masking, etc. For the purposes of this article, when I speak about AVP, I'm talking about the package with Autopano Giga and same for Video-Stitch with PTGUI. Kolor's best program is called Autopano Giga and Video Stitch uses PTGUI, so do your homework and be prepared before you make your purchase. The good news is you can't really go wrong, they're both great programs! If you're a 360 video professional, you might want to consider getting both and you'll understand why after you read this post.Īlso, it's important to note that while you can stitch video in both of these programs without further software, MOST people use other software to do the real stitching work. In this article I will talk about the differences between Kolor's Autopano Video Pro (AVP) and Video-Stitch (VS). They were made before WoW and concept artists ruled the world, so the monsters had a simple look which mirrors their fairy tale origins. Heroes II and Heroes III have always been my favourites. Secondly wth happened to the little artifact short stories, they were the best in H4 every little artifact had it's own story but now I just pick up stuff from the ground, no battles with dark wizards, no outsmarting demons, no other bits of lore to explain where it comes from ?Īnd this is a personal petpeeve this might be better for the gameplay but it deeply annoys me, why did you merge the classes ? I want my Castle caster to be a Cleric and not a Knight and I want my Druid not a Ranger !!! Now for the bad, first off the H5+ games have some excellent lore and lots of it but you'd never know this sure it's up on the web but all you get in the game are those blasted animated cut scenes wth devs do you think we can't read ? In the time it would take for the cut scene to play out I'd have read 10X more lore/dialogue/etc if it were in text form and you'd get to make the characters show emotions which you can't really do with in-game animations. I love that we're in another world, staying on Aexoth would have been fine with me but exploring a new world is always fun and I loved how they re-organized the castles especially dungeon, call me a sad nerd if you want but I love me some dark elves (and wood elves) I loved that we were back to full sized castles, the skill system I'm ok with it reverting to a more H3 style since they also tightened it up, no more trap skills which just ate up your hero's slots. I'd love to visit a dimension in which H4 had enough time/money to come out as the devs imagined it, it would have been a masterpiece imho. The major fault with 4 imho is that they didn't have enough time/money they game needed more creatures/bigger castles it needed heroes which were unique mechanically and not only in lore, it needed more maps and a map editor better AI prestige classes were a great concept but which needed more substance to them and beyond the base game the add-ons were sadly even more rushed gone were the well written characters and motivations. I understand fans were pissed they destroyed Enroth but Axeoth is a really well written world and the way the new castles set themselves up is very logical and well integrated in the game i.e reading the texts you can see how the elves rebuilt, why the dwarves left why Order is allied with both Life and Death and I love the caravan and hero-less armies plus monsters that move on the map. This is going to be problematic, but I honestly love this game and I'm saddened everyone else seems to hate it, I really love what they did with the skill system and especially the magic skills to be honest I much prefer Life/Death/Order/Chaos/Nature over Earth/Water/Air/Fire and Destruction/Darkness/Light/Conjuration I really love how differently I have to think to utilise each basic hero class. What I don't like is that because there are so many castles/heroes/spells there are a lot which are broken either by being overpowered or too weak and really all of them deserve to shine, also might heroes are a bit underpowered/boring. I appreciate the large number of castles and how unique they are one from the other, and how unique the heroes are, even if I see a hero and his speciality is the 3rd tier creatures in his town idk it seems to me like he has a reason for being that way. This is subjective but this to me is the the most visually appealing game of the series, it just seems very polished like every single mine or resource has popped out of the illustrations of a fantasy book. Honestly I like all the heroes games I've managed to play: If you have a subscription that bills for each person, or if you have an account with more than the included number of family members, team members, or guests, the change will be reflected in your next monthly or annual invoice if you remove someone. So, personally I really like this game! The hamster house is super cute, love the outfits, etc. You CAN put hamsters together when they are babies, NOT ADULTS/GROWN. Also, I really like when you get a little hamster “friend” but in real life, YOU CANNOT PUT HAMSTERS TOGETHER! I see so many people put their hamsters together, YOU CANT! They will fight till death or just fight until one gets hurts and eventually passes away. Hamsters hate water and cannot swim, since there is the bubble obstacle. It’s not the ads or anything like that, it’s the fact that these “fun obstacles” are TERRIBLE for real hamsters. So, I LOVE this app, it’s just one thing that really bothers me. I love that the little hamsters nose twitches and his little feet and body are so realistic! I think that this game is super awesome and I definitely encourage every to watch it! When I first saw this game I thought that maybe it would be super easy, but I find it kinda challenging to get all the fruits through out the entire course. The tiny outfits are perfect! The little top hat and the monocle pull it o we the top. Other than that this game is amazing! I love that you can earn different parts that make the course more fun! When the little hamster rolls through the tube it makes me so happy! Maybe you should be able to name your hamster! I think that would make it more meaningful if you could name your little buddy. I get it, you have to have ads if it is a free game, but I shouldn’t have to watch an add after every single level. The only I would change is the ad number. I LOVE this game! Getting the little outfits for the hamster is adorable! I love how the hamster gets little fruits at the end of the maze. Or you can use LED bulbs, which emit no UV and little heat. To minimize the damage, you can keep halogen lamps a safe distance from artworks and equip the lights with UV filters. It’s the same kind of effect.” This happens for two reasons, says Russell: heat and ultraviolet (UV) light. “When you were a kid, if you held a magnifying glass to a leaf, you would start to brown it and set it on fire. “With some of the halogen lights directed into one area of the painting, it’s actually gradually burning away at the materials,” says Mishaan. It’s always important to remember that light can damage art over the long term. If you have ceiling or wall-mounted light sources, you can use thinner frames or go frameless. If you're using picture lights, you'll want to choose a substantial frame that can support the fixture. Works of art with texture, such as oil or acrylic paintings, can be lit so the shadows created on the surface are minimized or emphasized. If your artwork is framed behind glass, you'll want to adjust the angle of the lighting to reduce glare. It also provides built-in flexibility for adding, removing, or relocating art in the future because the wall is evenly lit, you don’t have to adjust a thing. “It’s a more casual way of lighting art,” he says. “You’re creating one bright wall where art is displayed, and indirectly lighting the room,” says Russell, noting that it’s a technique preferred by many contemporary collectors. They can also be specified with a range of light-beam spreads, so “you can ensure that the light covers most of the artwork,” not just a small part of it, he says. These ceiling fixtures can be recessed or surface-mounted, and they allow the direction of light to be adjusted. Read on to learn about the best art lighting methods and the other elements, such as frames, that will make your artwork look its very best. “The big question is whether you want to directly illuminate the art or just have a piece live in a nicely lit room,” says lighting designer Doug Russell of Lighting Workshop. But there is no one-size-fits-all approach when lighting art-and there are several potential pitfalls. And, of course, good lighting enhances that effect. “Beautiful art enlivens everything in a home,” he notes. “There’s nothing better than a beautifully lit piece of art,” says Richard Mishaan, an AD100 designer known for incorporating arresting artworks into his projects.
